We Must #StopAsianHate
Our hearts go out to the families and loved ones of the eight Atlantans murdered last night. The shootings robbed six Asian-American women of their lives.
There should be no room for hate in this country. Yet we are bearing witness to an ugly intolerance against our Asian-American friends and neighbors spreading in our communities.
We cannot turn away from the escalating attacks on Asian Americans in their homes, workplaces, businesses, schools, and houses of worship. Over the last year, violence and threats committed against the AAPI community proliferated as white nationalist extremists were fueled by malicious lies from the former president and his right-wing allies falsely blaming Asians for the pandemic.
Whatever our race, background, or zip code, we all want to move through our communities without fearing for our lives or for our loved ones. We must use our collective voices to stop the hate and dehumanization of our fellow AAPI Americans.
